The European Youth Meeting of Taizé 2006/2007 took place in the Croation capital Zagreb. It was the first meeting in south eastern Europe and one of the nicest I went to. About 40000 young people from all over Europe (about 50-60% Croatians, 20% Polish, 4% German and dozens of other countries) came to Zagreb living with local families, eating, talking, singing and praying together at Zagreb fair (Zagrebacki Velesajam). People were incredibly hospitable (all participants got a place to sleep in Croation host families), the city of Zagreb helped a lot to handle the crowds of additional people in public transport (Zagreb does not even have a metro), even prividing lots of special buses between Velesajam and the central train station, and despite the cold temperatures outside the atmosphere was wonderfully warm (not only in crowded tramways). I have prepared some photo galleries for each day. Just click on the pictures to have a look and read the stories for the corresponding days. Have fun! ...
