After crossing the border we had to jump on another bus that eventually brought us to Bangkok. Most passengers got off at Khao San Road, the backpacker area of the town where I got a cheap room at Sitdhi Guesthouse, used the internet for a while, enjoyed delicious Thai banana pancakes and later on met with Jocelyn (whom I know from Siem Reap) and her friend Dave for a beer at Khao San Road, talking about travel plans for the next days.

In the morning I had a walk with Jocelyn to the Floating Market, actually not making it there due to limited time, but we walked around nice houses over the water of the canal having insights in ordinary people's life in Bangkok.

We met with Dave and Sean (Canadians like Jocelyn) for dinner and at 6pm took the bus southwards to Krabi.

Our bus dropped us off near Surat Thani around 5:30am and our onward bus to Krabi only left at 8am, eventually reaching its destination at 10:45am. We walked into town and looked for possibilities to reach our desired destination - Ko Jum, a little island that is marked on hardly any map. Finally we succeeded, taking a car to Laem Kruat and a longtail boat from there to the island. After checking in into two nice bungalows near the beach we jumped into the ocean on an island most of us hadn't even heard of just 2 days before. Yeah!

In the morning I took the boat back to the mainland, headed north to Krabi and from there via Hat Yai south to Malaysia.
