30.11.2004 - Rome Sightseeing Part III

Neuer Tag, neues Glück (trotz Regen, der mit der Zeit schon etwas nervte). Highlights der Sightseeing-Tour waren die Scala Santa (die Heilige Treppe, auf der Jesus zum Palast des Pilatus hinaufgestiegen sein soll), die etwa im dritten Jahrhundert von einer Heiligen nach Rom geschmuggelt worden sein soll (wie schmuggelt man bitteschön eine Treppe??)) und die Cestius-Pyramide (das selbstbewußte Grabmal eines reichen Römers). Der Circus Maximus war nicht sehr beeindruckend, es war einfach nur eine Wiese, dort wo früher die Wagenrennen stattfanden. Aber immerhin war es der Circus Maximus.
