Larnaka, 31.01.2005

Um noch vor Sonnenuntergang etwas von der Stadt zu sehen, ging ich mitsamt Gepäck auf Sightseeing-Tour, unter anderem zur St. Lazarus-Kirche, wo der berühmte Heilige aus der Bibel beigesetzt worden war, nachdem er Zypern missioniert hatte und zum zweiten Mal gestorben war. Dann wanderte ich noch zum großen Salzsee von Larnaka und betrachtete die aberhunderten Flamingos, die dort lebten, und einen beeindruckenden Sonnenuntergang. Zurück in der Stadt bekam ich (zum ersten Mal auf dieser Reise) ein günstiges Bett in der örtlichen Jugendherberge. Der Komfort (vor allem der Sanitäranlagen) war dem Preis entsprechend, aber für eine Nacht durchaus erträglich.
